SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON 11/23/22
It was a beautiful fall day and I was looking forward to hiking a new trail and taking photographs of a waterfall I’d never seen before. After entering the location of the trailhead in my GPS, I popped a CD into the car stereo and began my Blue Ridge Mountain adventure.
As I drove west, past the city of Asheville, I was listening to a lecture by a naturopath who was talking about a certain health condition that I was suffering from. My supposedly holistic doctor had recently given me a prescription for a medication that I wasn’t sure I wanted to take, and an herbalist friend had loaned me the CD because she thought it might help me make my decision. Hearing the naturopath describe the possible complications related to the medicine my doctor had prescribed, my gut feeling became stronger and stronger… that medication was NOT the route I wanted to take!
Meanwhile the GPS lady was telling me that I was going the wrong way and she rerouted me again and again. She insisted that I turn and go in the other direction, which was the opposite direction from where I needed to go. I was getting really pissed at her because I could tell she was trying to lead me astray.
The naturopath was also telling me, “Wrong way… don’t go in the direction of that medication.”
Even though the GPS lady had misguided me, I got myself to the trailhead and eventually found the waterfall. My inner compass had guided me well despite the GPS lady’s deceptions.
When I got home that afternoon I threw the prescription in the trash because my inner compass had also pointed the way forward on my healing path despite the advice of my doctor. Now that it’s been ten years since I made that decision, I’m still glad that I went my own way.
